Here at the Coro we are excited to let you know that we currently have two brilliant books for sale by talented local author Graham Whalan.

Graham Whalan was born in Ulverston, where his parents ran a Grocery shop on Hart Street. He attended Ulverston Grammar School (now Victoria High School) before moving to Barrow-in-Furness. He then studied Psychology at Birmingham University and worked for many years in the NHS. Although he now lives near Durham he retains an affection for his Furness homeland where he still has family and friends, and visits often.

“My books were inspired by my childhood memories of the Coronation Hall…I grew up in the 1950s when television had not yet come of age, so I well remember the thrill and excitement of the live shows and pantomimes staged there. Both my father and sister sometimes performed in these shows too, which of course added to the magic.”

Both books can be purchased in our Box Office and some of the proceeds will be kindly donated by Graham to the Coronation Hall.
