Ulverston Lantern Festival Workshops: Mon 10 – Wed 12 September: 3.30pm – 7pm

The Lantern Festival is an annual community event featuring a spectacular lantern procession through the streets of Ulverston. Four different processions start from their assembly points in the town and then merge in the County Square around 8:25pm and 8:35pm.

There is a new theme chosen each year and people are encouraged to make lanterns built with this theme in mind.

Workshops

If you would like to make a lantern at a workshop, the cost is £5 per lantern for standard sized lanterns, and £10 for larger lanterns, with space to build and dry lanterns, all materials, and plenty of advice from experienced Lanterneers.

Lantern kits are also available to buy for £5 each at Appleseeds, the Coronation Hall, the Laurel and Hardy Museum, The Book Shack in the Market Hall, and Costa Coffee.
